New Tech
These days the big players in DSLR released and will release new cameras. First was Nikon with the successor to the great D70s. The D80 got the sensor, viewfinder and the AF-unit from the D200 and is packed in a smaller housing. The memory changed to SD-cards. Long awaited this camera will support a mirror-up-feature 0.4s before release and a battergrip. This makes the D80 a no.1 choice for starters and enthusiasts. I would be interesting how it performes against the cheaper but not that well equiped Sony Alpha 100.

But one thing is for shure, Canon will not wait long to counter with a EOS 40D. At the moment there is a 400D with 10Mpix and some Consumer-Features. Nice cam, but like the 350D to small in most mens hands. And Canon left out the small Display to get the 2.5” LCD on the back. So they had to overlay the infos on that.

After a long pause Sigma will anounce the SD14 at the Photokina. The successor to the SD10 seems to have a Foveon-Sensor which captures every color in one pixel. Sad to me, it looks cheap and crappy like al the former Sigmas and the cheap lenses.
We will see…
[EDIT]Well, I need to improve my english… yes yes… ;)
